Community Living Camp DAY 5

 Title: Arangozhiyal

The day began with the news reading of Emerald house in which they gave a brief idea about the previous day. The next session was a "Workshop on Community Productive Work, Mask making and Distribution" which was taken by Aawani Aswan who is a student teacher inour college itself. She informed us before hand itself to bring cotton cloth, needle, compus, thread, fevicol and pencil. With her proper guidance, we made our own 3 layered cotton mask.

In between the session, we the Sapphire house members served the tea and snacks as student teachers were engaged deeply into the mask making process. It was a session which made the theme of the camp Education- creative and social aspects meaningful.

The cultural programme of Sapphire house beginned at 11.45 am. keerthi and Viji were the anchors of the programme. I am the captain of Sapphire house and I arranged every very programme and was really tensed. We began with a group song which included every member of the house, then there was the individual songs of Nidhi, Olivia and Keerthi which was really pleasing to the ears. Then we presented two videos with a theme of 'Raja Ravi Varma painting'. It was very difficult to dress like the painted ladies, but we planned carefully and made it a success and everyone appreciated us for our effort. Then there was a tableau on the theme of covid. Then we presented a tribute to empowered women, by presenting, Indira Gandhi, Sania Mirza, Malala Yousafzai, Kiran Bedi, etc along with ordinary women. As the title of the day, it was the last day of our camp and we decided make it memorable. So we planned a mass dance at the end of the programme and it made everyone happy and very Student and teachers danced with us and we considered it as the Kalashakkott of our camp. I am really happy that everything went well as we planned. We were able to show our team work, trust understanding and cooperation. As a captain and as a member of the house I am so happy. Then I read the news report of the whole day.

After lunch we had the valedictory function. Our principal Dr.Preetha T.L gave an introduction and asked students to share our reflection regarding the camp. Keerthi, Ankitha, Raji James and me shared our views about the camp. Personally, for me the camp was really interesting and it helped to develop moral values, leadership skills , problem solving skills, sense of togetherness, creativity and so much more. The camp was a memorable one.
