PUPPETS MAKING

.. A workshop to learn puppetry..

As part of Art education, our college conducted a puppet making workshop for us. It was a new experience. Dr.Dr.Venugopa Nair and Dr. Parvathy was the resource persons to teach us how to make puppets and to perform a puppetry.

They gave us a clear idea about making classrooms active using puppets to teach various concepts. Then divided us into various groups and gave us materials to make puppets.. With there careful guidance we each group build their own puppets and wrote a script to perform.

With the help of our teachers, resource persons performed a puppetry infront of us. My group included Athira, Aawani, Balu and Ananya. We prepared script to teach articles. Then performed it as puppetry. Every group performed their own scripts. It was really interesting experience.

LET US DREAM

.. ANNUAL COMMUNITY CONFERENCE..

Today along with some of my friends, I attended a conference titled " Let Us Dream". It included various panel discussions which inculcated many NGO's who shared their valuable experiences with us. The session was conducted by our dear Fr. Lijo who is an inspiring person.

This conference was a kind of revelation for each one of us as it made us aware of various inspiring activities around us. We understood that there are a lot of people with good heart and soul who find time for others.

This is a world in which everyone find excuses to stay comfortable and happy. But these people dedicated their valuable time for others. Everyone of us is busy with their own life but they find time for others to make them happy. If we could share the love, care and happiness with others, that is the greatest blessing in our life.

The respected members on various panels were really amazing inspiring persons who ignited the humanity in our minds. I am happy that by attending this conference I didn't wasted my time.. It was worth to spend my time with them. I wish and hope that I will be able to help atleast one person in my life and I wish to bring smile in the face of many. Let god bless me to do that.

INTER COLLEGIATE QUIZ COMPETITION

Our college conducted an intercollegiate quiz competition for BEd training colleges. We had 9 teams from nine different colleges. we had an inspiring quiz master, Aravind sir. Before main quiz session, there was a preliminary session as only 8 pair of participants were needed. After the preliminary test one group left the stage. Then the competition beginned. It had 5 rounds. Each round with fifteen questions. Each round was given different names like Radius, Axis, Cuboid, Trapezium, Atlas.

The quiz master made each session interesting and helped us to know about various informations around the world. The game was interesting as each group performed with great enthusiasm and competitive mind. The heat of the competition rised as it passed on to each stages. In each level, if all the teams fails to find the correct answer the chance will be given to the audience.

At the end we came to the calculation of points and the PTM College Balaramapuram won the match with 70 points and awarded the ever rolling trophy on the memory of Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara. At the end master asked us to find the connection of the titles given to 5 stages. We thought it as titles related to maths, but he surprised us by revealing that they are the names of bones in the human body. Our home team with Aarcha and Anandu scored 40, but like every other teams, they performed well. It was an amazing experience

Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara Day

.. A day to know better about Saint Chavara..

Saint Chavara day was on 3 January 2020, but due to some inconvenience our college celebrated Saint Chavara day on 9 January 2020.

Mar Kuriakose Elias Chavara, C.M.I. (also known as Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara) (10 February 1805 – 3 January 1871) was an Indian Catholic priest and social reformer. He is the first canonised Catholic male saint of Indian origin and belongs to the Syro-Malabar Church, an Eastern Catholic Church based in the state of Kerala. He was the co-founder and first Prior General of the first congregation for men in the Syro-Malabar Church, now known as the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I.), and of a similar one for women, the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel (C.M.C.).

The college conducted a programme to make us aware of the greatness of Saint Chavara. Two sisters among our seniors blessed the event as they presented a well organized idea about Fr. Chavara. Each words felt magical and touched our hearts. At the end, our dearest director of our college, Rev Fr. Sony Sebastian gave all of us a book of saint Chavara as well as sweets. It was a day which made us understand the importance of Saint Chavara in the education system.
